She portrays the forever inelegant Lady Edith, but something about the school ma’am meets debutante look is somewhat appealing. Maybe it’s because we think of her as she was as Jack and Rose’s secret daughter?
She confirms, so to speak. “There’s something about wearing clothes that your great-grandmother might have thought were nice that makes you look older,” she said in an interview to HelloMagazine.com.
“Me and Lily (Lady Rose MacClare) were in hysterics one day because we were both wearing dresses and pouring tea and it was like we were doing old women acting.”
She added that Edith’s 1920s hairstyle is also a “good disguise”.
“It puts me in that era and in my Edith zone,” she said. “I’m a lot scruffier.”
