After the release of Matthew McConaughey’s popular series True Detective season finale, an army of fans tried to connect to HBO’s online streaming website which crashed shortly after Twitter during the Academy Awards Ceremony.
Matthew won the Best Actor Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club earlier in March.
True Detective is a series that debuted in January about a Louisiana State detective on the pursuit of a serial killer, ended up becoming a huge hit.
The final episode of the first season was released on Sunday, making thousands of fans hit the online streaming page. However, the servers weren’t durable enough, so HBO service crashed.
To be honest, we’d expect HBO to take a more serious approach to such matter.
A spokesperson for the network wrote on Twitter, “Due to overwhelmingly popular demand for True Detective, we’ve been made aware of an issue affecting some users. Please try again soon.”
Unfortunately for the fans, McConaughey won’t appear in a second series of True Detective.
