7. Steve Guttenberg
The younger readers will probably go “Who?” at the mention of Steve Guttenberg. Well, unless they are fans of Veronica Mars, at least. Well, Steve was bigger than Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, James Franco, Steve Carrel and Will Ferrell all combined back in the mid to late 1980s.
He first struck gold with Police Academy where he was the “cool guy” of the day. He followed it with major hits such as Cocoon, Diner, Short Circuit and here Men and a Baby, among others. He was the comedy actor of the day for quite a few years. He was among the biggest Hollywood stars and things didn’t look like they would slow down ever.
And then they did. We’re not entirely certain what actually happened to Steve, but one thing is for sure. As soon as the 90s rolled in, he sort of rolled out of the picture.
