17. Josh Hartnett
To say that the expectations were great of Josh Hartnett would be an understatement of the day. Back in the early 2000s, he was looking to be the next big star, the next megastar. It looked like Josh was going to take that final step and join the likes of Brad Pitt or George Clooney. He had the looks, he had the talent.
In 2001, for instance, he starred in three huge movies – Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor and O. These were not your run-of-the-mill romantic comedies either, mind you. These were serious movies. Okay, Pearl Harbor was a joke of a movie, but it was still huge.
Somehow, things just didn’t pan out for Josh the way they were supposed to, though. We don’t know exactly why, but we have a strong suspicion that it was his own decision. He seems like the kind of a guy who could have made a decision not to chase fame at all costs.
Which is something to be respected.
