After almost ten years of what seemed to be the perfect marriage, City of Angels actress Meg Ryan and Far from Heaven actor Dennis Quaid looked like they would be one of the few long-lasting Hollywood couples that could teach us all a thing or two about love. However, there are some obstacles they were unable to overcome.
In 2000, Ryan fell in love with fellow actor Russell Crowe on the set of Proof of Live and began a highly-publicized extramarital affair. Soon after she hit it off with the Gladiator star, Ryan and Quaid announced they were getting a divorce.
A few years after their split, Ryan had the nerve to say that their split wasn’t all her fault and claimed that Quaid had been unfaithful to her for a long time while they were married. Quaid dismissed her accusations and said he found it ‘unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship.’
