Burlesque dancer and model Dita Von Teese filed for divorce from Marilyn Manson in 2006 after only one year of marriage because it became she found out that the then 37-year-old musician was having an affair with then 19-year-old actress Evan Rachel Wood, who co-starred in his horror film Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll.
Even though Von Teese confirmed Manson’s unfaithfulness, the controversial rocker remained silent on the matter, at least for some time. One year after their split, Manson hit the headlines once again when his relationship with Wood became public.
Manson maintained an on-off relationship with the young actress for several years, but they eventually broke off their engagement and went their separate ways.
Here’s what Wood said about her relationship with the two-timer:
“People were pretty mean. At the time I hadn’t yet been exposed to that kind of cruelty from strangers. If people were wondering why I was acting so-called crazy or like a teenager, it’s because I was. People go through phases. People make mistakes. People go through life and don’t get it right every time.”
