Country singer Taylor Swift had some domestic violence issues on Monday, May 5 when her pet cat attacked her as she was getting ready for New York’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The star was being fitted when her manic moggy Meredith decided to attack.
The singer then took to Twitter.com to share, “That moment when your cat casually walks up, then abruptly ATTACKS your custom satin Oscar de la Renta gown during your fitting for (the) Met Ball.”
That single tweet was obviously ah-mewsing to her fans, as more than 7,500 people retweeted it, and more than 15,000 favorited it.
The star was expected to show up on the red carpet in the gown in the evening and it is not known if any damage was made to her outfit.
Meredith is a Scottish fold named after Meredith Grey of “Grey’s Anatomy,” which is the singer’s favorite TV show. She bought the cat on Halloween in 2011.
Meredith is often a guest on the singer’s social-media accounts.

“I take a lot of video of the cat,” Swift told Ellen DeGeneres, sharing a clip she titled “Cat Fail,” which shows Meredith’s attempts to climb a couch pillow.
The singer didn’t go into detail about how damaged the dress was, but when she later showed up on the red carpet, her pink satin gown appeared intact.
