Jennifer Lopez probably won’t be thrilled to find out actress Rosie Perez included some of her dirty laundry in her latest memoirs. During an interview in the TV show In Living Color, Rosie revealed several behind-the-scenes details about Jennifer Lopez from the time they worked together on the show, Fly Girls.
One of the details Perez mentioned is that host and creator of Fly Girls, Keenan Ivory Wayans, didn’t actually like Lopez so she had to help her get the job. Wayans apparently considered Lopez to be “chubby and corny”.
Perez wrote in her memoirs Handbook for an Unpredictable Life, “All of the girls (other dancers) were coming into my office complaining how she was manipulating wardrobe, makeup, and me, all to her advantage.”
Even though Perez dismissed the critique of her fellow dancers, Jennifer Lopez apparently confronted her like “some ghetto biatch (sic), screaming and pounding her chest.”
“You pick on me, me and only me, every f**king day! Every f**king day! I work my a** off, deliver and you keep pushing me aside, treating me like s**t! I know I’m good! I’m better than any of these girls, and you know it,” were some of Lopez’s words.
The star of Pineapple Express admitted being hurt by the “disparaging comments” made by Lopez, especially when Lopez spoke to her at a nightclub as if nothing had happened.
“Jennifer came over to me, smiling, saying hello as if nothing had happened. I should’ve let it go, played it off, too. Instead, I killed her with my biting tongue,” Perez recalls.
