Susan Willams, Robin Williams’ widow, has agreed to an interview for the first time since the death of her husband, sharing some details about his mental health prior to his suicide. She revealed that, besides suffering from depression and being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Willams had been dealing with paranoia and anxiety, and his doctors even recommended that he check into a neurocognitive testing facility a week before his death.
Susan said that her husband was fighting his depression as best as he could, but that it was simply too much for him. A report following his death also informed us that Williams was suffering from Lewy body dementia, which is one of the more common forms of this disease, following Alzheimer’s.
