Singer Robin Thicke has admitted to a history of drug abuse, and also gave an insight into the reason for his split with estranged wife Paula Paton.
He admitted, under oath, that he was “high on Vicodin and alcohol” during the making of his hit song ‘Blurred Lines’, and also that he “didn’t do a sober interview” for the entire year while promoting his 2013 album of the same name.
Every day I woke up, I would take a Vicodin to start the day and then I would fill up a water bottle with vodka and drink it before and during my interviews. I don’t recall many things that I said. In fact, I was quite surprised when I read them back sometimes.
Asked whether he considers himself an “honest person,” Thicke said that he is not honest, but also not selective about when to tell the truth.
No. That’s why I’m separated. I told my wife the truth. That’s why she left me.
