One of the greatest actors in Hollywood, Robert De Niro, still won’t give up on the mob movie The Irishman. De Niro confirmed that plans to reunite with Al Pacino and Joe Pesci in Martin Scorsese’s mob movie are still active, even though four years have passed since the project was signed.

Well, fingers crossed guys!

In 2010, De Niro agreed to play in a movie based on the mafia hitman Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, portraying the Irishman himself. Shooting was expected to start in 2011, but as you can see, it never began.

However, it seems De Niro loves his Goodfellas crew too much to simply give up on reuniting, but there are still no signs that cameras will start rolling any time soon.

“We have been trying to do (the film) for the last few years, and I think we will do it… That’s something I’m looking forward to very much… I think it will (happen)… We’re really working towards making it happen,” De Niro told magazine Flatt.

The Irishman would be the first De Niro and Scorsese collaboration since the legendary Casino in 1995. The movie is supposed to be based on the book “I Heard You Paint Houses” by Charles Brandt, where the Irishman described murdering Jimmy Hoffa, the mob leader.
