Pharrell Williams is going to be a new coach for the U.S. TV talent show The Voice.
The hit maker of Happy will take the spinning red chair which was once Cee Lo Green’s, before he announced he will be leaving the show in February.
On Monday, March 31st, Pharrell tweeted about the official announcement, saying, “This is going to be so fun.”
He had previous appearances in the show as a guest mentor for Usher’s team. It was in season four and now he’ll be the new coach, together with singer Shakira and Usher. He’ll be filling in for Christina Aguilera and Green.
Other fixtures for the show from the very beginning were also Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
His debut on the show will be on the upcoming seventh season, which is scheduled for airing in the U.S. in autumn.

The show’s executive producer Mark Burnett said, “I am thrilled to have Pharrell come back to The Voice family, and this time… as a coach. Continuing in The Voice tradition of having the biggest and most current music stars as coaches, Pharrell fits perfectly.”
We agree with Paul Telegdy of NBC Entertainment when he says this was a fantastic period for the Grammy winner, “It’s been a huge year for Pharrell, with recognition for his contribution in the world of music — the Despicable Me franchise soundtracks, his Oscar-nominated song ‘Happy’ and his Grammy-winning collaboration with Daft Punk on the breakout dance hit ‘Get Lucky.’
His dominance in record sales in 2014, coupled with his incomparable accomplishments in the world of fashion and design, make him an irresistible addition to The Voice family.”
