Even though Owen Wilson likes to keep his private life private, the Dallas-born Hollywood star decided it was time to publicly address his father’s illness in order to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s.
Wilson, whose 74-year-old dad is being cared for at home and is constantly surrounded by family and close friends, says that Alzheimer’s is a ‘rough thing,’ but adds that he is grateful for a lot, including the support of his nearest and dearest and the memory of his father’s former self.
Despite thinking that he would be unable to come to terms with his dad’s illness, Wilson says that he had no choice but to deal with it. Wilson admits he is sad, but concludes that he had to accept the current situation and find ways to think of things to be grateful for.
