Nicki Minaj’s Dad Burned Down Their House

It hasn’t always been like this for Nicki Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj, in fact, it was far from it.
The rap star had a difficult childhood due to her alcoholic and abusive father, Robert, who once set the family’s home on fire while her mother was still inside. Nicki spoke to Now magazine about it.
A lot of arguing, lots of screaming – there were holes punched into the walls in anger and cops being called to the house all the time.I was afraid, very afraid that something would happen to my mother.
She was born in Trinidad and Tobago and lived with 15 people in a house with only three rooms.
On the corner of the block was where the drug dealers would hang out. My mother left him many different times and came back. One time he pulled my mother out of a car and dragged her two blocks. After that I had a phobia about unlocked doors. Anywhere my mother and I were, I made sure the doors were locked because that was my only way to protect her.
Nicki is now reportedly engaged to Safaree Samuels.
In 2022, I’ll be married and have my two children. I’ll have hundreds of millions of dollars. I’ll have put out five albums and have an Oscar and Grammys.
