Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Jessie J. opened up MTV’s Video Music Awards with an amazing performance of their three popular songs.
First, Grande entered the stage in a shiny, silver costume and started singing ‘Break Free.’ Minaj followed with her hit song ‘Anaconda.’
The recently released video was viewed 19.6 million times in 24 hours, making it Vevo’s most-viewed music video ever.
Afterwards, Jessie J joined them and started performing ‘Bang Bang.’
During the opening, Minaj suffered a wardrobe malfunction and literally had to hold her dress together for the second half of the performance.
A source explained to Us Weekly:
“During the dress rehearsal she did the number numerous times and could not make it into the dress zipped up even once. I’ve no idea why she didn’t just decide to wear something else. She just didn’t have the time to change from one outfit into another, there was no way,”
She told Us Weekly the incident happened because there wasn’t enough time for her to zip her dress.
Nevertheless, she said that opening the VMAs was a fantastic experience.
“It felt amazing to open the show.”
