Famous singer Neil Young has filed for divorce from his wife of 36 years, Pegi Young. The 68-year-old filed the divorce papers in their hometown San Mateo, California on July 29, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
The hearing is set to take place on December 12.
Apart from spending more than three and a half decades together and having two children, son Ben, who suffers from cerebral palsy, and daughter Amber, the pair were also frequent musical collaborators throughout their marriage.
They have often toured together and even performed together during the 1994 Academy Awards.
Pegi is the inspiration behind Neil’s songs “Such a Woman”, “Once an Angel”, and most notably, “Unknown Legend”.
In addition, Neil and Pegi co-founded the Bridge School in 1986, a non-profit organization for children with severe speech and physical impairments, inspired by their son’s illness.
