Famous rock star has spoken out for the first time after his longtime girlfriend L’Wren Scott passed away. He’s in pain trying to understand why his “lover and best friend” would commit suicide.
Jagger sadly said that he was “devastated” to hear his 47-year old partner was found hanging by a scarf on Monday, March 14th.
His band decided to cancel their first concert in Australia, scheduled for Wednesday, March 19th, to help him process his loss and to make arrangements for attending L’Wren’s funeral. On his personal website you can read, “I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.”
“She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her.”
His announcement came up just hours after his spokesman denied the rumor that implied the pair had split prior to her death.
The statement reads: “The story in the New York Post re a split between Mick Jagger and L’Wren Scott is 100 percent untrue. There is absolutely no basis in fact to this story. It is a horrible and inaccurate piece of gossip during this very tragic time for Mick.”
Many celebrities such as Bette Milder, Scott’s colleague designers Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs, Olivia Wilde and Mick’s ex-wife Bianca shared their condolences and paid their tributes to the late stylist on their Twitter profiles.
