The Art Directors Guild Award on Saturday night announced three winners – Oscar-nominated Her and Gravity, along with period drama The Great Gatsby.
Her, starring Joaquin Phoenix, was awarded for its production design in the category of Contemporary Film, while Gravity was announced the best Fantasy Film and The Great Gatsby received an award for best period film.
The ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.
In the TV categories, awards were given to Veep, Game of Thrones and Behind the Candelabra, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. The guilds’ prominent Cinematic Imagery Award was given to legendary Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
The director was presented with the prize by his the Wolf of Wall Street collaborators Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill.
Scorsese told the audience, “How does one even separate cinema from PD? You can’t. We have images in our mind, pictures in our head, but yours are the ones I look to get those images on the screen. You’ve never let me down. This award is for you.”
