Man Responsible For “Celebgate” Arrested
The FBI has made an announcement that it has tracked down one of the men that was responsible for hacking into the email accounts of various celebrities and stealing their very personal photos and videos.
Known as “Celebgate,” the scandal took place in 2014 when many nude photos of a large number of celebrities were leaked on the Internet. Jennifer Lawrence was one of the A-listers whose nude photos were spread around the Internet without her consent. Some others stars involved in the scandal were Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Rihanna, Kate Bosworth, Hayden Panettiere, Kate Upton, and Kirsten Dunst among many others.
According to the FBI, one of the perpetrators of the crimes was Ryan Collins, a 36-year-old man from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. However, there are many more people who were involved in the hack and are still at large, according to the FBI. Collins has sign a plea agreement to plead guilty to the charge, which is a felony violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
