Pop star Kesha is not going to go out without a fight. She is continuing her legal battle against her producer and record label to try to free herself from them.
Kesha and her lawyers have filed an appeal on the decision made last month that still binds her to her record contract with Sony celebrity music producer Dr. Luke, real name Lukasz Gottwald. In the appeal, the singer compares her contract to “slavery.”
The judge stated in his decision that no irreparable damage has been done to Kesha’s career, which her attorney countered with affidavits that were given by many industry experts who agreed that this lack of momentum can be incredibly damaging for her career. Basically, they are saying that if she cannot continue to make music without Dr. Luke, her career will be all but over.
Kesha’s legal team will continue to work hard to prepare the case, since it is not expected to enter the courtroom until 2017.
