Kelly Clarkson gave a beautiful gift to her husband Brandon Blackstock just in time for Father’s Day. They have welcomed their first child together, and it is a baby girl.
Kelly took to Twitter on Saturday to announce the happy news, saying, “Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! 🙂”
Clarkson and Blackstock, Reba McEntire’s stepson, got married in October 2013 in Tenessee, and already have two pre-teens, whom Blackstock has from a previous relationship.
Did you know that Kelly was sure she was getting a baby girl a while ago. When she was promoting her Christmas album on Elvis and Duran and the Morning Show, she predicted, “I’m totally gonna have a girl.”
“My first child will be a girl—I know it in my soul.”
Of course, she celebrated her prediction on Twitter, three months after the epiphany.
“We just found out we’re having a girl officially! I knew it! Only a girl could cause this much drama with all this vomiting ha!”
The blonde star, who announced she was expecting a girl earlier in 2014, experienced a difficult pregnancy early on after battling with morning sickness.
She tweeted while pregnant, “Ladies if you r pregnant & sick as a dog trust me when I say the one thing u will keep down might just be ‘baked potatoes’ #godblesspotatoes (sic)”
