Katie Holmes was apparently forced to choose between her acting and fashion career. She chose acting career, ending her partnership with stylist Jeanne Yang, after she recognized the label wouldn’t endure.
Best friends, Katie and Jeanne, launched Holmes & Yang in 2009 but five years ago, the pair was forced to part ways in professional life.
Katie admitted she didn’t want their fashion business to suffer due to her decision to focus on her acting career again, saying to Britain’s Elle magazine, “I loved every minute of my time working on Holmes & Yang. I remain passionate about the design aesthetic we created, and I am so happy with what Jeanne and I accomplished.”
“However, I am now concentrating on acting and motherhood, which did not leave the label the time and attention it deserved.”
She also added “I’m really thrilled that the final showcase for Holmes & Yang is in Elle – I had a blast at my shoot for the magazine. It is fantastic to feel like it’s ending on a high.”
Katie is about to star in a new TV show from Richard Lagravenese, who directed P.S. I Love You, portraying the philanthropist wife of Rufus Sewell’s character.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in the Big Apple later this year.
