After her directorial debut, the heavy World War II drama “Unbroken,” Angelina Jolie finds herself behind the camera again. This time, she is making a drama about a marriage in crisis, called “By The Sea,” starring herself and her husband Brad Pitt.
The couple are both the producers of the film so the whole endeavor is sort of a family business opportunity. Jolie says that shooting this movie helped their marriage by allowing them to let some steam out. Some of the scenes were very intense and full of hostility and acting in them was certainly one way to deal with the stress and the tension that is part of any marriage.
She says that working together is a great way for the two of them to push each other as professionals, as actors and, in her case, as the director.
Their previous movie, 2005’s “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” was, as she put it, a “lighter” movie and with “By The Sea” they got an opportunity to share something deeper.
