Actor Johnny Depp and his ‘Transcendence’ entourage were busted by police while trying out a new luxurious electric sports car during the making of the movie.
Johnny has reported that the director Wally Pfister introduced him to Elon Musk, the head of the Tesla electric car company. He then went to try out the car with his British co-stars Rebecca Hall and Paul Bettany.
However, the drive didn’t last long as they were soon stopped by police for speeding.
Depp told Britain’s The Sun newspaper, “I had one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The director (Pfister) introduced me to Elon Musk at Tesla. He came and visited the set and we had a ride around in his car but then the police pulled us over. We had a first – maybe the first -Tesla jam.”

“I was in the front seat while Paul Bettany was sitting on my lap. Rebecca (Hall) and Wally (Pfister) were in the back. Elon was driving and we were pulled over speeding (sic)… Elon had a good sense of humor about it. The cop did not. He needed a humor chip. But it was a good time, nonetheless.”
He also had to spend time with some of the most brilliant minds at the University of California, Berkeley.
He said, “As far as technology … let me put it to you this way.”
“My kids are smart enough to not come to me for any questions about the computer, even homework for that matter.”
“Unless it’s got to do with history or the future or music, I’m good. If its math and all that, I’m down the road.”
