Actress Jodie Foster has married her photographer girlfriend Alexandra Hedison.
The two tied the knot over the weekend, April 19-20. They have been dating for less than a year.
Jodie’s representative has now confirmed the happy news to Eonline.com.
This is the 51-year old Hollywood star’s first marriage.
Foster has come out as a lesbian in 2013, at the Golden Globes, when she confirmed the longtime speculations about her sexuality. She held a speech while receiving the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award, when she revealed she’s a lesbian.
She said, “I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the Stone Age,” said Jodie, adding, “in those very quaint days when a fragile young girl would open up to trusted friends and family and co-workers and then gradually, proudly to everyone who knew her, to everyone she actually met. But now I’m told, apparently, that every celebrity is expected to honor the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance and a prime-time reality show…No, I’m sorry, that’s just not me. It never was and it never will be.”
Actually, she used the speech to thank her former lover Cydney Bernard. The two already had two sons, Kit and Charles.

E! News first announced that “the Oscar winner and her photographer girlfriend of almost a year got married this past weekend.” Before their wedding, they joyfully stated, “It’s pretty serious…They’re totally in love.”
