Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, has been in the news quite a lot this week. The world got to see Caitlyn for the first time since Jenner announced that he was transitioning into a female, with a photo shoot as Caitlyn done with Vanity Fair.
And now it has been announced that Jenner will be honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, which is given to courageous people who inspire others to be brave.
The announcement has been confirmed and supported by Arthur’s daughter Camera as well. She stated that Caitlyn is incredibly brave and courageous, adding that it would be hard to find an athlete who has been this brave this year.
The announcement was also supported by Billie Jean King, who was one of Arthur’s closest friends and another tennis legend.
Caitlyn Jenner might not be known today for being an athlete primarily, but older people will recall that as Bruce, she was a world-class athlete and Olympian.
