Rapper, who is now an actor, Ice Cube, has clarified comments he made saying that he could’ve won a prize over the late Paul Walker at the MTV Movie Awards.
The tragically late actor, who died in a car accident in November 2013, was posthumously honored with the Best Onscreen Duo prize. He shared the prize with his Fast & Furious 6 co-star and friend Vin Diesel on Sunday, April 13.
The rapper made some rude comments about the fans voting out of sympathy for the late star. He suggested he should have won the prize together with his Ride Along co-star Kevin Hart.
He said, “We was robbed. Shame on you MTV. We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated, for us not to win was crazy. We were the best onscreen duo, period. They should have gave it to him before he passed away (sic).”
After the public started asking questions, he took to Twitter.com to explain that his words were misunderstood and taken out of real context. He wrote, “Re: (regarding) The MTV Awards. I wasn’t really mad we didn’t win. So I would never diss the actors who won. Not even Paul Walker. Seriously people! Don’t believe the hype.”
“We should honour people before they die. That’s all. MTV Awards. Ice Cube is not a sore loser. I was born losing. This winning s**t is what I gotta get use to (sic). Last tweet and I’mma (sic) leave it alone. Remember this: A lie travels further then the truth (sic). Damn the devil is busy.
And Paul Walker fans don’t trip (get upset). I was a fan too.”
