First of all, to clarify things, the infamous Becky mentioned in Beyoncé’s new song ‘Sorry’ is not celebrity chef Rachel Ray. Instead, the woman in question is fashion designer Rachel Roy, who dissed the ‘Lemonade’ singer with a since-deleted Instagram post about having ‘good hair.’
Expectedly, the Beyhive has been all over Roy since her identity was revealed, prompting her to make her Instagram account private and justify herself on Twitter.
Due to the fact that she’s the number one topic in the celebrity world these days, there are some things you should know about Roy.
To begin with, her BFF is Kim Kardashian because no drama can ever happen without the Kardashians being somehow involved. Interestingly enough, Roy often hangs out with Kim and her hubby Kanye West, who is really close with Jay Z.
Secondly, Roy was married to Damon Dash, Jay Z’s former business partner. After their split, Roy got a three-year restraining order against Dash, as well as sole custody of their two daughters.
Next, you might not have heard about her before this whole Beyoncé controversy, but Roy is actually a rather successful fashion designer. She has worked with the Kardashians, Kate Hudson, Chrissy Teigen, Jennifer Garner and even Michelle Obama.
Finally, Roy seems to be the reason why Solange attacked Jay Z in that notorious elevator scene. According to sources, Beyoncé’s sister was ‘provoked by Rachel’ prior to fighting with her brother-in-law.
All in all, while we might never find out whether Jay Z really cheated on Bey with Roy, the fashion designer will certainly profit from her 15 minutes of fame.
