Actor Brad Pitt gives fans a chance to attend his second annual Make It Right gala. Anybody willing to make a $10 (£6.25) donation to his charity, would be invited to attend his event in New Orleans, Louisiana in May 2014.
He has collaborated on the project with popular discount website Groupon.com to help boost donations for the Make It Right cause. It is providing environmentally-friendly homes to those affected by Hurricane Katrina since it happened in 2007.
The actor himself will host the benefit in New Orleans on May 17. Bruno Mars and Kings of Leon will entertain the guest, while there is a prize package for one lucky visitor who will have VIP treatment and will get the opportunity to meet the actor.
Travel and accommodation will also be taken care of by the organization.
Groupon.com owners agreed to hand over the amount of $100,000 (£62,500) to the Make It Right foundation.
This wasn’t the first time celebrity came up with such a prize. George Clooney raised $1.2 million (£750,000) for his similar satellite project in Sudan in January 2014.
The price was the same, $10, for buying raffle tickets to win a date with George.
In December 2006, Brad Pitt and William McDonough founded Make It Right with intention to rebuild 150 safe, energy-efficient and affordable homes for families from New Orleans Lower 9th Ward who lost everything to Hurricane Katrina.
Until April 2013, Make It Right has rebuilt 90 homes and is now working to finish the remaining 60 homes.
