Blake Shelton Denies Tabloid Claims: ‘I’m NOT A Drunk’

1

If you’ve been closely following tabloids for some time, one of last year’s breaking celebrity news was that country singer Blake Shelton was suing In Touch magazine because they had said he is a “wild, reckless alcoholic who’s headed for rehab.” Shelton heavily denied the claims.

The wheels of justice may turn slowly, but they always turn, and the case has finally gone to court this week. While nobody knows why it took so long for them to move it to the courtroom, it appears that the spark that lit the flame was that In Touch fired back – they claimed in legal documents that Shelton is indeed a drunk!

Shelton is suing the tabloid for $2 million, but according to reports, he also made a list of things the editors will have to print out – claims that contradict what they wrote about him in the past. Some highlights include:

“I have never been to rehab.”

“I did not then nor have I ever hit rock bottom.”

“I do not drink excessively, binge drink or have a drinking problem.”

“I do not drink vodka before 11 AM.”

“I am never drunk, intoxicated, or unable to perform my job on ‘The Voice.'”

“I do not slur my words or stumble when I drink.”

“I have never urinated on a mailbox.”

We’ve yet to see how the case will unravel, but we’re with Shelton on this one. After all, it’s one thing to write about celebrities and a completely different thing to talk about things that have never happened.
