Billy Bob Thornton Opens Up About Blood Vials Worn With Angelina Jolie

The famous 59-year-old actor Billy Bob Thornton, who was married to Angelina Jolie from 2000 to 2003, revealed the truth behind the blood vials they used to carry when they were together, saying that she though it would be romantic to wear vials of each other’s blood around their necks.
“[The] vial of blood is very simple. You know those lockets you buy that are clear and you put a picture of your grannie in and wear it around your neck? She bought two of those. She thought it would be interesting and romantic if we took a little razorblade and sliced our fingers, smeared a little blood on these lockets and you wear it around your neck just like you wear your son or daughter’s baby hair in one. Same thing.”
He also explained that they didn’t spend much time together during their marriage because they worked too much. And, because of the distance, Jolie though the vials could help them feel closer to each other. Thornton added that they had no dungeon in their home, but a recording studio.
