Although we have witnessed amazing performances, the queen of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards was definitely Beyonce.
The glamorous singer closed the show with a 20-minute performance that ended when Jay-Z and Blue Ivy joined her on stage. Tears went down her face as she kissed her daughter and husband, who called her the ‘greatest living entertainer.’
The pair won best collaboration for the worldwide hit ‘Drunk in Love.’
“I have nothing to say but I am filled with so much gratitude,” she told the cheering audience as they screamed her name repeatedly.
Beyonce lost the video of the year award to Miley Cyrus, who let a homeless man accept her award.
“Thank y’all, my name is Jesse and I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know this because I am one of these people. Though I may have been invisible to you in the streets, I have a lot of the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight.”
