Aretha Franklin Dismisses Taylor Swift And Nicki Minaj In New Interview

Legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin is promoting her new album Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics which debuted at number 13 on the Billboard 200. To promote the album, the 72-year-old has given a lot of interviews recently and one really stood out.
While talking to Wall Street Journal, Franklin discussed modern singers. Her responses were quite short and it was obvious that she doesn’t hold many popular singers in high esteem. In particular, Aretha dismissed Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj. When speaking of Swift, she only said that Taylor has ‘great gowns, beautiful gowns’, while she declined to say anything at all about Minaj.
Also, Franklin isn’t a fan of technological enhancement to voice. When she was given an explanation as to what auto-tune is, the soul diva exclaimed that it was ridiculous.
