Adele’s New Album Becomes Best Seller In Just Three Days
Adele’s new album 25 has officially become the best-selling album of 2015, just three days after its release date. The company tasked with tracking record sales claims that at least 2.3 million copies of the album have been sold worldwide by Monday morning, far more than any other album released this year.
Taylor Swift’s album 1989 was definitely the best-seller of 2015, as well as last year. Well, until 25 came out. 1989 sold over 1.9 million copies this year and 3.5 million in 2014 thanks to Taylor’s immensely popular hit songs “Blank Space” and “Shake It Off.”
It has generally been a slow year for music sales, and no album has really gotten close to Swift’s 1989 in record sales except 25. Several artists such as Justin Bieber, Drake and The Weeknd have achieved pretty impressive sales in 2015, but it doesn’t look like any of them will even come close to Adele until the end of the year.
