In what appears to be one of the most paradoxical celebrity news this month, “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan remains under investigation Friday for possible animal cruelty. After receiving an online complaint regarding animal cruelty, Santa Clarita Sheriff’s deputies responded to the dog behaviorist’s pet sanctuary. Upon arriving at the property, authorities were unable to locate Millan.
The complaint seems to be stemming from a February 26 episode of Cesar 911, which showed an aggressive dog biting on the ear of a pot-bellied pig. National Geographic Wild responded to the complaint with a statement:
Millan was working with Simon, a French bulldog/terrier mix, who frequently attacked other animals, including his owner’s pet pot-bellied pigs. A short clip from the episode was shared online and showed Simon chasing a pig and nipping its ear, causing the ear to bleed. The pig that was nipped by Simon was tended to immediately afterward, healed quickly and showed no lasting signs of distress.
Millan actually managed to curb the dog’s behavioral issues thanks to the success of the training session and the dog has since overcome its aggression. Here’s what the statement concludes:
Simon did not have to be separated from his owner or euthanized.
