Jefferson Airplane Co-Founder Paul Kantner Dies At 74
Paul Kantner, one of the founding members of the legendary rock band Jefferson Airplane, passed away on Thursday. He was 74.
Paul had an unyielding passion for both science fiction and politics and delivered timeless rock classics such as “Wooden Ships,” “Volunteers” and “White Rabbit” thanks to that passion. He fell extremely ill earlier this week and was quickly taken to a San Francisco hospital, where he fiercely fought for his life. Sadly, he lost his final battle to organ failure and septic shock.
Kantner was definitely a fighter. He escaped death in the past twice, once after he survived a motorcycle accident in the early 60s and then when he recovered from cerebral hemorrhage twenty years later. He even recovered from a heart attack in 2015. Rest in peace, Paul.
