Lil Wayne Plans Coup For Leaving Cash Money Records

Lil Wayne is not leaving Cash Money Records on his own – he is taking Nicki Minaj and Drake with him, or at least this seems to be his plan. You might say that this makes his severing of ties with CMR a true music coup.
The rift between Cash Money Records and the four-time Grammy winning rapper reached breaking point some time ago when Lil Wayne told everyone on Twitter that the record company is refusing to release his album Tha Carter V and when he later added that he wants nothing to do with them.
He plans on leaving Cash Money Records and is suing co-founder of CMR Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams for $8 million that was promised to him as advance for the unreleased record.
However, it seems that Lil Wayne will not be leaving on his own as he plans on taking Nicki Minaj and Drake with him, both of whom are signed to his Young Money label, at least according to a line on his track Coco from the Sorry 4 the Wait 2 mixtape where he raps, ‘I got Barbie…I got Drake too’.
