We already talked about this little lady, and how she’s all grown now, etc. It seems like her new music and videos are globally celebrated by feminists. It was only yesterday when the world called her ‘boy crazy’, and accused her of singing only about her love life. When Vanity Fair posed the same question, Taylor Swift called the reporter out.
“For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated – a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way – that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist.”
In her latest video Blank Space, Swift performs the unflattering image that the public has foisted upon her. You want boy-crazy? This is boy-crazy! She opened about the song in a recent interview.
“There’s been sort of a sensational fictionalization of my personal life”, Swift said in an interview about the song. They’ve drawn up this profile of a girl who is a serial dater, jetsetting around with all her boyfriends and she get them but she can’t keep them because she’s too emotional and she’s needy. Then she gets her heart broken because they leave and she’s jilted, so she goes to her evil lair and writes songs about it for revenge.”
Also in Taylor news, she has posed almost makeup-free for the newest Wonderland magazine cover. Hard as it is to believe nowadays, she actually started out as an awkward, country balladeer from Pennsylvania, only to become music’s It Girl.
