A judge has thrown out a lawsuit against Nicki Minaj in which she was accused of stealing wig designs from her former hair stylist, meaning that she has saved herself $30 million.
Terrence Davidson, who was hired by the star in 2010, attempted to sue Nicki, claiming that she copied a number of his wig designs and sold them online after he stopped working as her hair stylist in 2013.
Nicki filed a motion against him to block his lawsuit and it seems a judge agrees with the star after ruling that while her hairpieces are “unique and distinctive in the ordinary sense of the word,” the public would not associate the designs with his work.
Davidson is responsible for creating many Nicki’s weird and some wonderful wigs, including the ones she wore to an MTV Video Music Awards, events in London and her famous Superbass music video.
The stylist, who filed the lawsuit against Nicki and Pink Personality LLC in February, has also worked with many music artists, including Jennifer Hudson and Patti LaBelle.
