Skye McCole Bartusiak Found Dead!

Best known for her child star role as Mel Gibson’s daughter in the movie The Patriot, Skye McCole Bartusiak was found dead at her home in Texas on Saturday, July 19. Skye McCole Bartusiak was only seven years old when she portrayed Susan Martin in ‘The Patriot’ back in 2000 alongside actor Mel Gibson.
Apparently, Skye McCole Bartusiak passed away in her sleep, but the cause of her death is still unknown. Police were called to her family home in Huston on Saturday morning, after the young actress was found ‘unresponsive in her garage apartment,’ according to the Daily Mail.
Over the past fourteen years, she had appearances in many television shows including 24, House MD, CSI and Lost. Recently, she stared in several shorts, including Bushido, Frame of Reference and Sick Boy in 2012.
According to the report, police have stated they haven’t found any ‘obvious signs’ of foul play or a suicide. An autopsy will determine the cause of death, whilst a toxicology report is currently pending.
At the time of death, she was only 21 years old. Skye was the daughter of Don Bartusiak, and is survived by her mother Helen, and older brother Steve.
“We lost our girl,” Helen told CNN. “She was a kind and really beautiful girl.”
“We think she had a seizure and choked and nobody was there,” her mother added.
