Selena Learning To Love Herself By Getting A Tattoo
Singer and actress Selena Gomez is learning to put herself at the top of her priority list. And to make sure everyone understands that, she’s got a new tattoo.
The 21-year old ‘Spring Breakers’ actress, whose relationship drama with pop sensation Justin Bieber continues to make international headlines, visited New York-based tattoo artist Bang Bang McCurdy to get her meaningful new ink.
Written in Arabic letters, the new tattoo means “Love Yourself First.”
McCurdy took to Instagram.com to share a picture of his friend Gomez’s new body art on Wednesday, July 16. “Little gift for my friend @selenagomez,” he captioned the shot.
It’s not the first tattoo for former’ Mickey Mouse Club’ star Selena. The singer has a short phrase written in cursive on her right hip, a tiny tattoo of a music note on her wrist and the Roman numerals for 76 on her neck, for the year her mother was born.
Her heavily tattooed on-again, off-again boyfriend Bieber, 20-year old, has also made public declarations in the form of body art in the past. In April 2013 he displayed a new wrist tattoo which appeared to resemble Selena herself.
E! News spoke exclusively with Bang Bang, who told them Selena came to him “about a month ago” to ink the phrase. “Selena already had it written out how she wanted,” Bang Bang said.
“She had been wanting this one for a while.”
