Pop star and heartthrob Justin Bieber joined the likes of Taylor Swift and others celebrities, by making a surprise visit to an orphanage. While in Japan he used the time to visit an orphanage on Wednesday, April 23.
He’s currently in Japan with his mother, Pattie Mallette, and decided to take a break from traveling to make the unscheduled visit.
Pattie took to Twitter.com to say, “In Japan and JB just randomly decided to show up at an orphanage and surprise some kids. So proud.”
Bieber shared several short videos on Instagram.com of himself running around with the children, enjoying the time and dancing with young fans.
The same day, the star was at Tokyo’s V2 Club where he played an intimate acoustic set.
This surprising visit came hours after the 20-year old star was criticized for taking a photo at Tokyo’s notorious Yasakuni Shrine, which honors Japan’s war dead, and also ex-military leaders who committed mass atrocities across Asia and the Pacific during World War II.
Negative comments about his history ignorance urged him to take down the picture, and publish an apology.
The star said, “While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine (sic). I was mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer (sic). To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan.”
