Bieber Apologizes For Visiting Shrine in Japan

Controversial pop star Justin Bieber has apologized to his fans for taking a picture at a shrine in Japan.
Hi was visiting Tokyo’s Yasukuni Shrine, which honors the dead from Japan’s war, including the leader who committed mass atrocities across Asia and the Pacific during World War II.
This shrine represents the symbol of Japan’s lack of penitence for its imperialistic history. The singer posted the picture on his Instragram.com account on Tuesday, April 22.
The picture and his ordeal were not positively acclaimed by fans who criticized him for his historical ignorance.
“Thank you for your blessings,” Bieber said. It gathered more than 666,000 likes on Instagram and tens of thousands of retweets before he suddenly removed the image from his account 13 hours later.
He also published an apology, saying, “While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine (sic). I was misled to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer (sic). To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan.”
Remember Bieber’s visit to the Anne Frank House? In a museum honoring the legacy of the Jewish teenage girl who was killed in a Nazi concentration camp in World War II. He wrote in the guestbook that “hopefully she would have been a Belieber.”
