Ferrell And Reilly Join Forces For New Comedy

Actor Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are teaming up again on the big screen for a new comedy project. This will be the stars’ third time (lucky) collaboration.
They previously worked on hit movies Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and another hit movie Step Brothers. Now they are joining forces once again for a new project Boarder Guards.
According to Deadline.com, Ferrell and Reilly will play hapless friends who decide that their new purpose in life is to protect America’s boarders from illegal immigrants attempting to flee the country.
However, they end up stranded in Mexico without proper identification and must find a way back to the U.S.
The movie will be directed by Anchorman filmmaker Adam McKay. Jesse Armstrong will write the script with Ferrell, and McKay and Kevin Messick will produce through their Gary Sanchez Productions banner.
According to Cinemablend.com, “While the film is not being described as a political comedy, it seems unavoidable that it could be read that way as immigration is still a hot button issue in the U.S. Even the term “illegal immigrant” has come under fire as being insensitive.”
“Of course, Ferrell is not new to political comedy. He famously impersonated President George W. Bush on Saturday Night Live as well as in the one-man Broadway show You’re Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush. But his movies don’t generally deal in political issues.”
