20 Huge Celebrities Who Are Surprisingly Small

Some of the hugest celebrities in “la la land” have a huge following. They’ve made massive blockbuster movies, and some of them even have egos to match.

But when it comes to physical height they are surprisingly short. “I thought he would be taller in the flesh” is often the first words muttered by anyone meeting some of these megastars for the first time.

According to statistics, the average European or American male is 5’10” tall, but not everybody is average.

1. Usher

He may look impressive as he struts his stuff across the stage but Usher is only 5’8”tall – perhaps it’s all done with spotlights and mirrors. Or we usually judge by their net worth.

Usher Terry Raymond IV is big because he was chosen one of Teen People magazine’s 21 Hottest Stars Under 21, in 1999.

He sold approximately 30 million albums globally, and his 5th album Confessions, released in 2004, was sold in over 1.1 million copies in its first week, making it the highest first-week total for an R&B album ever.

Even though he’ short, he portrayed a legendary fighter in Hands of Stone.

”You couldn’t find a more stylized boxer than Sugar Ray Leonard. He was an incredible motion guy, the way he moved around the ring, and I think my dancing will make it easier for me to pick up his moves.”

He continues: “I’ve been working on familiarizing myself with the ring, sparring and understanding how to move. He had such incredible discipline and was flashy and classy at the same time. I want to be as passionate and dedicated in preparing for this role as he was every time he stepped into the ring. It’s an incredible story to be told. The metaphor of determination and struggle is one we can all relate to,” he recalls.
