Nick Cannon has had quite a career in music and TV, hosting a number of shows and scoring some major hits with his music. He was also married to Mariah Carrey in what seemed to be one of those celeb marriages that might just work.
Nick’s health woes began in 2012 when he had to be hospitalized due to mild kidney failure. Later that same year, he suffered from blood clots in the lung and it did not take the doctors too long to put two and two together. By March, he was diagnosed with lupus nephritis, an autoimmune disease from the lupus family.
Since he was diagnosed, Cannon became involved in a number of lupus organizations, chronicling his fight against the disease in online videos, raising awareness of this potentially very dangerous disease.
