Another case of looking at the rather obvious clues, although these two fabulous actors are not sisters, they are actually first cousins once removed – yes, we know all this cousin stuff is confusing.
Kyra’s Dad (Henry) is Edie’s cousin, to put things simply.
However, this is just the beginning of our exploration of the Sedgwick clan. When talent runs in your genes, it would be a shame to waste it.
Kyra Sedgwick, her father’s side, is descended from Judge Theodore Sedgwick, Endicott Peabody (the founder of the Groton School), William Ellery (a signer of the Declaration of Independence) and John Lathrop (an American minister).
Kyra also has a brother Robert Sedgwick, who starred in 8 movies, and she’s a sister-in-law to Michael Bacon and Betsy Bacon, both composers.
Not to be confused with her husband, who’s also an actor, Kevin Bacon.
Edie Sedgwick is best known for being one of Andy Warhol’s superstars and members of his factory clique.
