7. Jerry Ferrara
Between seasons of the show Entourage, the actor started a new workout regime that included playing basketball regularly and an improved diet. “Turtle” shed over 50 pounds in the process.
Ferrara is said to have lost weight by trading “burgers and fries for tofu, fresh organic fruit and vegetables.”
Jerry Ferrara began studying theater and acting in college, where he was inspired by a teacher to pursue a career in acting. Soon he found himself in Los Angeles, where he quickly landed his first role on The King Of Queens.
He was working at a Boston Market in L.A. when he was hired as “Turtle” on the HBO show Entourage (2004).
Television series premiered on HBO on July 18, 2004 and concluded on September 11, 2011, after eight seasons.
After the series ended, Jerry decided to switch from television to movies and starred in two movies in 2012, Battleship and Think Like a Man.
He was also doing some voice acting at that time, appearing in both documentary television series Vietnam in HD and a video game Scarface: The World Is Yours.
After great reviews, he got for his performance in the movie Battleship, other high-profile roles soon followed. His next movies were all blockbusters: Empire State, Last Vegas, Lone Survivor and Think Like a Man Too.
He is currently filming The Entourage Movie, which is set for release in early 2015.
