18. Carrie Fisher
Star Wars superstar Carrie Fisher was told to lose weight for the latest movie and boy did she oblige, shedding around 50 pounds with just a little help from a nutritionist and personal trainer.
Carrie Frances Fisher was born in Beverly Hills, California, the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Debbie Reynolds.
She is best known for her portrayal of Princess Leia Organa in the original Star Wars trilogy, but also known for her bestselling novel Postcards from the Edge and screenplay for a film of the same name, as well as her autobiographical one-woman play, Wishful Drinking, and the non-fiction book she based on it.
Fisher has publicly discussed her problems with drugs, her struggle with bipolar disorder, and her overcoming an addiction to prescription medication. In one of the interviews, she admitted that she was on cocaine during the shooting of the The Empire Strikes Back.
As you all probably know, Star Wars: Episode VII is due for release in 2015, and will be helmed by Star Trek director JJ Abrams.
The producers wanted Carrie to be as close to her appearance in the earlier movies as possible, so they spared no expense.
They employed a personal trainer to help her shed weight, but she actually did the same thing in 2011, without help from anyone, but the weight was back next year.
