Stephen Collins, best known for playing Reverend Eric Camden on ‘7th Heaven’ for 11 seasons, has reportedly confessed to child molestation.
Since the 67-year-old actor is going through a nasty divorce from wife Faye Grant, she allegedly recorded Stephen admitting to multiple child molestation counts in a couple’s therapy session.
On the tape, Collins is heard talking to Grant and to a therapist about exposing himself to underage girls. One was 11 years old when the molestation started and it continued when she was 12 and 13. That girl is thought to be a relative of his first wife, Marjorie Weinman.
“There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis.”
Stephen also speaks about another girl in New York who was 12 or 13 at the time.
TMZ reports that Stephen didn’t know he was taped.
He allegedly first confessed to the molestations to Faye in 2012 and her lawyer advised her to tape the confession in therapy. Since the girls were under 14 years of age, Stephen’s alleged acts are violent felonies.
The Daily News confirms that New York police are now conducting a criminal investigation.
